Ashley and I spent several hours wandering around Lowes this past Saturday, as we began the process of turning one of our home’s bedrooms into a nursery. Our first purchases were for the simple base items we will need: Chair Molding (to go around the middle of the room), Crown Molding (for around the ceiling), Ocean Breeze Paint (a pale blue color for the top portion of the walls), Almond Paste Paint (a soft yellowish tan color for the bottom of the walls) and Snow Storm Paint (a basic white color for the ceiling and trims).

Our idea for the room will be quite a project, but one we hope to enjoy together. We plan on painting a room encompassing mural with some unique features that hopefully will make it a site to see when completed. Whether that room will accommodate Zoe Jane or Ezra James, we had decided on a Winnie the Pooh theme. The mural will have an cartoonish outdoor feel with trees, bushes, bird, butterflies, etc. and one wall (actually the big sliding door closet) will have the main characters (Pooh, Tigger, Piglet, Eeyore, Rabbit, Owl, Kanga and Roo) having a picnic.

I might add that we had no clue, at the time, that Winnie the Pooh was such a hot nursery theme. Our reasons for picking the theme were not practical or based on what was the hot ticket item. In fact the story behind the selection is based on some embarrassing pet names we have for each other. For more information on that, just ask.
