There is an old adage that stopping smoking is easy. Anyone can do it. The problem is not stopping smoking … the difficulty is keeping yourself from starting up again.

With this in mind, if you are like a majority of smokers, you have tried to quit at least one time in the past. In fact, if you really are like most smokers, you have attempted to stop smoking far more than one time. Despite your best efforts, in time you ended up picking up a cigarette yet again and took up smoking once more.

Of course, there are a number of different stop smoking products, plans and programs on the market today. Typically (and this may sound like you as well) a smoker will try several different products, plans or programs - again, to no ultimate avail. Perhaps you’ve reached the point where you are thoroughly frustrated with past efforts to stop smoking and are wondering where else you can turn.

You might want to consider taking part in a quit smoking support group. In this regard you might want to combine participation in a quit smoking support group with one or another of the products, plans or programs you have tried in the past. Or better yet, find a program that already advocates the use of support groups.

There may have been a product, plan or program that seemed more helpful to you than others historically. And, the possibility exists that by combining this product, plan or program with the benefits that you can realize through a quit smoking support group, you may have a far better chance of long term smoking cessation success.

There are a number of different and significant benefits that are associated with a quit smoking support group. These include:

  • moral support which really is essentially to the whole stop smoking process
  • exchanges of information and ideas that can give you a better understanding of why you smoke
  • information about how to best handle the stress and withdrawal that is associated with quitting smoking
  • learning valuable tips and pointers on how to successfully resist the urge to smoke

Chances are good that you can locate a quit smoking support group either in your community or in a nearby city or town. Many of these groups are now sponsored by hospitals. Other groups are freestanding and have been developed my individuals who personally have fought the stop smoking battle in the past.

In the end, the combination of a reputable stop smoking product, plan or program combined with a quit smoking support group may be the exact combination that will free you from the need to smoke. And that will lead you to a healthier and happier life.

If you really want to stop smoking and quit the habit forever, I recommend the free trial from Stop Smoking Resolution.
