Here’s the list of games I played this past week and the progression I made on them.
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (PS3/PSP)
I never got really into the Castlevania series, I did play Super Castlevania IV a bit but never spent much time on it. Symphony of the Night came out on the PlayStation Network last week and I downloaded it. So far I’m really enjoying it, the music is great and the sprites and art are really well done, I also like the very precise gameplay very old school, very fun. I’m not very far into it, just made it to the Marble Gallery, but I’m looking forward to play some more.
Ridge Racer 7 (PS3)
Grabbed this one in a bargain bin, so even if the game isn’t that awesome, I’m glad I didn’t pay full price for it. The solo part of the game is quite long, I’ve only managed to do 53% of all the races and challenges so far and I did spend a fair amount of time playing. It has more meat than MotorStorm, but like in MotorStorm it just more of the same and there isn’t so much you can do in terms of variations with drifting, the main mechanic of Ridge Racer.
Super Stardust HD (PS3)
Still playing, have yet to beat the 5th planet, new high score: 63 millions.
Metal Gear Solid 2 (PS2)
All this hype about Metal Gear Solid 4 had me want to replay the whole trilogy. I’m starting with MGS2 since it’s the one that I haven’t played in a long time. I’m about to face Fatman, now that I’m older I seem to enjoy MGS2 more than when I first played it. I don’t know if ill keep playing, I might just do a Metal Gear Solid marathon prior the MGS4 release.
Guild Wars: Nightfall (PC)
Playing on a friend account, had never played Guild Wars before, so it’s all new for me. I’m only level 3 right now, I think I’m still on the tutorial quests. So far I’m having fun and I hope to be able to put more time in this game this coming week.
Moero! Nekketsu Rhythm Damashii Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan 2 (NDS)
Long name I know. This is the sequel of Osu! Tatakae! Ouedan (the Japanese version of Elite Beat Agents) that I have imported and really enjoying. I made it to the last stage which I find isn’t as good as Jumping Jack Flash for a final song and I’ve unlocked the first bonus track “Monkey Magic”. One thing that I’ve notice is the layout of the markers are really funky in this version, sometimes they make no sense at all but it’s still very fun. Even with the layouts being crazier I found the game overall easier than Elite Beat Agents, I’ve managed to score S ranks in a lot of songs so far. I’m going to write about this game soon, but If you played EBA and you founded yourself wanting more, go ahead and import this game.
Trauma Center: Second Opinion (Wii)
I’ve already finish this game before, but I’m playing through on hard right now. It is definitely way harder, you can’t make many mistakes and you need to inject the green stuff very frequently.
That’s pretty much it for last week games I’ve played. No PSP again hehe, I actually don’t have my PSP right now lended it to a friend. August has some good games coming out, I might write about that tomorrow, but for now I’m going back to Ouendan 2!
I found this site where you answer their corporate survey and they will send you a free Nintendo Wii!
