I joined plenty of fish a number of months back partly in the hope of finding the “perfect one” and partly due to my curiosity into human nature. The first rule of internet dating is nothing is ever what it appears 97% of the time, what you have is people trying to sell you a brand new Lexus when the actual car is a 1979 Chevy Chevette. The second rule is the majority of people are more interested in the chase then actually finding their lifemate, this is observed by users providing the least bit of information possible in order to attract more people. When a user shows up where they lay all of the cards on the table other members don’t know how to react as the car the person is trying to sell is the actual car for sale…go figure….. the chase is reduced to actually to how well you match up with the other person……… matchmaking was that not the real purpose all along. The third rule is listen to your gut and the brain you were given if something does not feel right it is because it is wrong at some level. I met this girl online who said she was a nineteen yearold college student currently in a local college taking nursing. After a few chatting sessions we decided to meet at a local coffee stop but on the day of the meet I got a bad feeling so I brought a friend along ……….. turns out nineteen years old was closer to fourteen and the first year of college was the first year of high school needless to say I got out of there quick. I sent a letter off to the administrators of the site who canceled her account but less then a week later she was back on with a different username but same story. I went out with another woman and we hit it off online but once we met in person there was nothing there. A short time later I met another young lady online with a different name and different story again we hit it off and she sent over her phone number which was oddly enough the same as the woman before so I thought maybe she had a roomate or a sister …….. nope just a new story and identity. So why do I keep going back? I got lucky once by meeting my now exwife so maybe it will happen again. Take care.
