The formula for Millionaire Matchmaker stays the same, week after week.
One of Patti’s clients only want to go on coffee dates, and she laughs that off. The rules of her club exclusively state that they are to take the woman to a four or five star restaurant that will set a precedent for a “wonderful romantic relationship.” Coffee is too cheap and lunch is too fast. She thinks if they aren’t an eater that they aren’t good in bed.
The first guy up is Peter who lives in Malibu. She’s impressed by his place and asks to learn more about him. He’s very spiritual and gives back to society. His dream girl is intelligent, loves learning, loves nature, isn’t glamorous, and is professional. Patti can’t find anything wrong with him. He’s happy finding a 7 or 8 over the age of 30 - no actresses or models. Peter invites Patti and her coworkers to do yoga/relaxing type stuff and they aren’t impressed by how controlling he is.
The next guy is actually two guys - good friends who want to double date. Before she deals with them, she goes to pick up her parents at the airport. Patti says her personal relationship is suffering at the hands of her business because keeping her millionaires happy trumps everything. Now she goes to meet the two guys, Tai and German. This is a wingman syndrome, according to Patti.
Now Patti’s girls look through the photos of the girls they might bring to the VIP event - and Patti’s mom is coming to the event too. She suggests Tai and German go shopping to pick up fresh looks. The sylist has to keep getting their attention and eventually even has to separate them. This VIP event takes place on a yacht. The mingling starts, and there’s even a redhead aboard - I thought that a look Patti didn’t go for! The guys come out and approach the girls. Patti separates Tai and German several times.
Peter ends up going for the younger actress types, exactly what he said he wasn’t looking for. Boys will be boys. He meets up with Christina and refers to her as feeble. What? He didn’t feel a click, but what a rude thing to call someone - at least he didn’t say that to her face. And then he met with Cynthia, a 26 year-old that Patti brought on the boat for the other two guys. Tai and German meet with Chloe and Carolyn and then C.J. and Erin, and they seem happy with all four girls, especially how the last two got along since they want their girlfriends to like one another too.
At decision time, German likes both, so Tai picks C.J. for him. Tai is in the same situation so German picks Erin for him. Patti thinks it’s incredibly immature that they can’t make their own decisions, but I don’t necessarily mind deferring to a best friend. Who else knows you best? Peter picks Cynthia, of course. Patti wants to show him he is going down the wrong path and also wants to show the two guys that double dating isn’t helping them find love. Patti announces to the girls who gets the one-on-one dates with the millionaires.
The girls arrive via limo to Tai and German’s place and the guys dance with jackets and no shirts on in the window. Then they come down and greet them - still without shirts on. It was a practical joke, thankfully. C.J. thought it was hilarious, but Erin wasn’t all that amused. The guys take the girls dancing at a place where they were the only ones there. They head off to dinner. Erin wasn’t impressed with how touchy-feely Tai was being. C.J. and German were doing the same sort of stuff, so she guessed he wanted to keep up.
Peter and Cynthia go horseback riding. Peter talks about feeding families and Cynthia says she’s cutting back on carbs because you can never be too thin or too rich. Yeah, there’s a love match for you. Then they go out to dinner. He meditates before eating his salad, and she drinks. She isn’t feeling the chemistry.
The next day Patti meets with her parents before they leave, and her parents express how proud they are of her. Then she meets the guys for an update. She sits down with Peter, who expresses that he’s realized Cynthia was too young for him and now he’s back to looking for an older woman with more substance like he originally expressed. Then she gets the scoop from Erin on the guys, about how physical they were and the practical jokes they pulled at the start of the date. She sits with Tai and German and tells Tai that Erin doesn’t want to go out with him again. Erin also suggests that the guys date separately. Duh. C.J. wants to go out with German again.
The update at the end of the show said that Cynthia never called Peter (no shock there) and that Peter continues his search for a woman that thinks Nirvava is a state of being…not a rock band. German and C.J. continued dating…without Tai, and Tai is still looking for the right girl.
