Want A Website Like Mine?

Someone asks this every week. So, here it goes…

If you want to have a WordPress blog, you really have two options.

1.) Free - Go to http://www.wordpress.com and sign up. There are limitations and restrictions. You can have a decent blog though. I never did this. I want to own the site and be able to change it and make it my own.

2.) Not free but doesn’t cost you a lot. Find a hosting site and install your own WordPress blog. This is my method.

To do the second, go find a hosting company. Hosting companies are different. I did some research and found that ASmallOrange is great for webhosting.

1. Sign up here OUR SERVICES
2. Select SHARED WEB HOSTING
3. Start off small, go with TINY for $25 a year.
4. Select REGISTER NEW DOMAIN <– This is where you make your own website name. If you find one that is available, you will be given the option to continue. The domain name can be purchased for one year at $10.00.
5. Complete your order, hand over your $35.00, and follow the directions. Once your website is registered, you can begin creating your website.
6. To create your website, sign in to your admin section and open up FANTASTICO DE LUX.
7. Select WORDPRESS
8. Click NEW INSTALLATION
9. All done. You can now go into your ADMIN section for WordPress and make it your own. As you become more comfortable with Wordpress, you can add your own plugins (all over the web and many are free.)
