Today, overall, was a pretty easy day. It wasn’t hard to keep going, and as I said previously, the old Alcoholics Anonymous slogan, “One day at a time,” is kind of what I need to keep in mind right now. Get enough days together, and you have a week. Get enough weeks, and you have a month. A month or two, and I will maybe have lost 10 or 15 pounds, which would be enough to make a huge difference, getting me to the halfway mark. So if I can have a bunch of days like today - days that are relatively easy to get through - I’ll be OK.
So, like I said, today went well.
Now that I’m aware that March Madness cuts into the Price Is Right - now that I know TPIR comes on at 9 a.m. instead of 10 - I was all ready to get exercising right at 9.
I actually lugged my old stairstepper from years ago up from the basement. It really uglifies my family room now, but I don’t care. If it’s right here and I don’t have to troop down to our dim (and messy) basement, it doesn’t feel like such an intrusion. Working out on the stairstepper was great. It was actually harder than either the treadmill or the elliptical machine - I worked up a major sweat. I was able to keep going for 25 minutes, but I did have to stop periodically to catch my breath.
Today I had to go out and run some errands. I picked up lunch from Chic-Fil-A and dropped by my husband’s office. I got a side salad and 8 nuggets from Chic-Fil-A, not large fries and 12 nuggets. I had dressing on the side that I just dipped my fork into. I did sprinkle on their honey-roasted sunflower seeds, which make the salad taste special. It was good.
So here’s what I ate today:
South Beach bar (140); cup of nonfat milk (90); banana (70); orange (70); salad (80); sunflower seeds (80); nuggets (260); Lean Cuisine Portabello Beef Tips (220); mixed vegetables (60); broccoli (70); milk (90); yogurt (100).
Total: 1330 calories
If you get a chance, check out weighins.com. It’s a supportive close-knit community for people wanting to lose weight. With a free membership you can join a weight loss challenge (like the Biggest Loser tv show). You also get a free calorie counter and a personal diet journal. I like it much better than sparkpeople.
