Our kids are at the age where living like no one else now so later we could live like no one else later…would make sense. Both kids have separate rooms with more toys than they have time to enjoy them all. Jen and I have become stronger ourselves in saying no. No one wants to admit to spoiling their kids. We don’t spoil. They just have too stuff. I feel like bringing a 4″ x 6″ snap shot of their rooms to show them how stuff they have before we shop. They need a reminder as I do. This makes sense to me. I am curious how they would react.
Imagine needing to shop at Target for low cost toiletries and clothes. You have two photographs taped to the inside of the cart just as you enter the store. One photograph is a recent photo of your son’s toys and things. The other photo is of your daughter’s toys and things. I will do this. I need to see how they react. I may even audio tape it. Hey, who said the baby steps towards debt freedom had to be a drag. Why does this make me feel like a booking agent for a guilt trip? Love it.
