Home Again, Home Again. I Did Well On The …

Home again, home again. I did well on the driving- I really hate driving. My husband loves to drive and I love to be passenger but for these drives I went solo and hit a big thunderstorm to boot. So I am proud of myself and very tired. Last night was my parents 47th anniversary and we went out to dinner with my sister and her husband too. Both of my parents have been very ill over the last 18 months and I am so happy they are both here to celebrate together. It’s so hard watching my parents age- and it is with difficulty. They are in their late 60’s and have more medical issues than I can type here easily. Anyway…did well on the dinner ordering (fancy restaurant with very small portions) and then Mom ordered the creme brulee, and dark chocolate brownies with homemade ice cream and caramel- okay so I indulged and here’s where I get stuck…It’s my parents anniversary- they’ve been sick- they are having a celebration-dessert is always part of the celebrtion….but the voice says to me- “sharon, creme brulee will not make this evening any more joyful- just put down the fork”….I never listen to the voice- I have an awesome voice that I never listen to- okay I sometimes listen to but not last night. I am sure I gained caged liberty’s 2 lost pounds!!!
