So, in Weight Watchers terms, I’ve switched to Core. For the non-WWers, that means I’ve gone from their program where you count “points” and eat whatever foods you want, as long as you count them, to their Core program. Core has a set of core foods that you can eat “until satisfied” and count non-core foods.
I am LOVING core. I started Weight Watchers last October. I have had my fill of measuring and counting every last bite. Core is fantastic! I can’t believe I was afraid of trying this program.
I was afraid that:
a) I don’t eat enough core foods, I would have to change my life too much.
b) Eating out would be too hard to find core foods.
c) I would go crazy and eat too much since portions are “unlimited”.
I was so, so wrong.
a) I’ve been eating a lot of core foods anyway, since my Weight Watcher points were so low. I HAD to eat core foods (like veggies) just to stay under my points and feel full. Now, I’m just eating a few more core foods, and a little bit less non-core foods.
b) Almost every restaurant has grilled chicken with a veggie and rice or a potato. Lucky for me, I live on the seacoast of NH, so we have LOTS of fish options at most restaurants, giving me tons of core options.
c) After almost eight months of eating on the Flex plan, and watching my portions, I am eating the correct portions, naturally. This is the biggest shock of all to me. After eight months of measuring and weighing everything, it is paying off. I can give myself a serving of rice, and it’s a normal sized serving. Not my prior self giant pile of rice. And, even better, I am completely satisfied with a normal sized serving.
So, anyway, I am loving livin la vida Core! I’ll let you know how my weigh in goes on Tuesday.
